Car Museum coming to Knysna!

For the past 8 years, House of Classic & Sports Cars, situated in Knysna at the heart of the famous Garden Route, has specialized in the buying and selling of all types of vintage, classic and sports cars. Covering many makes and models – sedans, saloons, sports, convertibles, coupes and bakkies – the vehicles date from 1913 to the present day.

While some of the vehicles sold have been from their own stock, House of Classic & Sports Cars has assisted hundreds of car owners to sell their vehicles on consignment; i.e. vehicles sold on behalf of their owners. When necessary, their sales team travels the country to view cars and arrange for the transportation of these precious vehicles to the HOCASC premises in Knysna. On arrival, the vehicles are checked over in their workshop and cleaned before being displayed for sale in their spacious showroom. Marketing is done via HOCASC’s attractive, popular website, car club newsletters, e-mail data base and a number of up-market car magazines. Every effort is made to sell the vehicles at a realistic, achievable price.

AUCTIONS: Because of their passion and desire to foster and promote interest in the “old car” movement, House of Classic & Sports Cars started hosting car auctions at a number of Car Shows in the Eastern and Western Cape some 7 years ago. The most notable of these is the George Old Car Show which attracts about 12 000 spectators and participants each year. Through their involvement and donation of the Auctioneer’s Commission of 6% to the Southern Cape Old Car Club which organizes the show, House of Classic & Sports Cars has assisted those in need to the tune of some R180 000 as the club passes the funds on to a charity or charities of their choice.

COMING SOON!!! For some time, House of Classic & Sports Cars has been aware of the need for Knysna to have a museum devoted to Classic, Sports and Vintage Cars. After much deliberation, plans are underway to turn their attractive building into such a facility. Alterations and additions are being made to their premises which will soon be home to the KNYSNA CLASSIC, SPORTS & VINTAGE CAR MUSEUM. Located in a prime position on the N2 passing through Knysna, locals and visitors alike will be able to view a wide variety of cars from days gone by to the present day. Vehicles dating from 1910, through the decades, to the present day will be easily accessible for everyone’s pleasure. At this stage, it is envisaged that up to 80 cars and trucks will be displayed. There will also be a further 30 cars available for sale.
